SADLY CANCELLED

WINDERMERE JETTY MUSEUM TEMPORARILY CLOSED FROM

19/03/20

Next year’s rally promises to be something special, as the new Windermere Jetty (formerly Steamboat Museum) have kindly offered to host the event. Launching and mooring will be free of charge and their excellent cafe conveniently overlooks the jetties. There will be some access restrictions to fit in with the Jetty’s opening times etc, but the organisers are arranging with the staff to make these as user-friendly as possible. All will become clear when the programme details are announced, hopefully early in March.

The itinerary will of course include steaming to all the favourite spots such as Wray Castle, Fell Foot and Newby Bridge, and the all-important Dress Day. We’re hoping for a really go turnout to show our appreciation to our hosts.

For those not wishing to spend a full week afloat there will be some off-lake activities. Many will be delighted that we’ve been invited to return to Millerbeck, the miniature railway near Fell Foot, and we are planning to visit Old Hall Farm, where you can see restoration of all kinds of heritage machinery, including steamboats. Keen walkers come prepared,- you’ll get plenty of opportunity!

Notice the Friday start date (instead of the usual Sunday). This is to give a  long weekend option for those not wishing to stay the full week. Further information with booking forms will appear in March, but you can register now so that you get all the news ASAP.
