Canal Festival on the Chesterfield Canal

non SBA Event

The event will be held on the weekend of the 30th June and 1st July.   It will be in conjunction with Barrow Hill Roundhouse so there will be plenty of interest in steam powered machinery.

Members of the SBA are invited to attend with their boats.

Registration for SBA members will be free, there will be good Welsh steam coal on hand, a brand new slipway to launch from and new canal basin to potter around - the canal itself offers five miles of interesting cruising interpersed with five locks. Along the way SBA members can sample the canalside delights of Nona's Cofee Shop at Hollingwood Lock House (home made everything with vintage bus to Barrowhill Roundhouse) and Tapton Lock Visitor Centre for relief, drinks and ice-creams at Chesterfield. There is an on-site campground for tents and caravans. Oh, and we also have security on site to protect boats left overnight.

All we are missing are members and boats!

We are planning for this to be an annual event so if you are unable to come this year put it in your diary for next year.
