Windermere Rally; Registration of Interest

The Dates for the Windermere Rally are now confirmed as 23rd June 2024 until 28th June 2024

The rally will be based as last year at the Windermere Motor Boat and Racing Club (WMBRC), Broad Leys, Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria and will basically follow the same outline as last year.

Basic Outline:

  • Sunday 23rd June, launching and evening Hot Buffet at Broad Leys. (Price TBA)
  • Monday 24th steaming to Fell Foot for lunch.
  • Tuesday 25th steaming all day around north lake, evening Picnic at Wray Castle at 1730 (following departure of last ferry of the day).
  • Wednesday 26th Dress Day at the Jetty followed by Gilbert and Sullivan evening on the Lake. (Joint venture with Roger Mallinson’s Rally)
  • Thursday 27th Daytime steaming. End of Rally Dinner at Broad Leys (Price TBC)
  • Friday 28th Steaming and haul out (by 4.00pm Broad Leys.)

Daily events to include visits to Fell Foot, Windermere Jetty Museum and the Royal Windermere Yacht Club. There will also be a ‘free’ day on the Tuesday giving members the freedom to explore or rest as they wish. There may be a visit to Millerbeck Railway but this is to be confirmed. All other meals besides the two listed above will be on a pay as you go basis.

Event Fees: TBC, however, we anticipate a fee of £33 per person for the week for the use of the WMBRC facilities. This will include launching and mooring fees but if you choose to launch elsewhere on the Lake you will need to make your own arrangements.

Windermere Registration Fee is mandatory and must be obtained before the rally and will be the responsibility of individual boat owners. You can no longer register at Ferry Nab. For new registrations is now £44.50 for new registrations and £33.50 for renewals.

This is for Registration of Interest only in order to establish possible numbers and no fees should be paid.

This is an Event Type 1 and the SBA Boat Declaration Form will need to be completed before the event.

In event types 1 and 2 the SBA organisers and SBA members are covered by the SBA Liability Insurance.
